Week 6 !!! How did I get so far behind. I have set up a del.ico.us (oliverspet) account and will try to add some great links that relate to emergent literacy and articles that may be useful at a later date as I design new workshops. I know that there are a few great articles that are full of great information on the RIF site that I have been meaning to save for a while. If anyone has any suggestions, please send them along :-)

This morning I am attempting to get a list of My Teaching Resources entered into my Rollyo account (oliverspet). To date I have been using a list of my favourites to access the best sites but I find that I have so many listed it is becoming time consuming and confusing to remember them all and to temember which ones I like the best and use most frequently. By consolidating into the Rollyo lists I think I will be able to keep the original list but refine this to only the best for my own use.

As I move into the fall I will need to be creating new workshops and making new tools. I hope Rollyo will cut down my search time. On the other hand..................

Still sailing

I have had a look at most of the links for week 4 and have added a number of RSS feeds to my site, but I will need to spend more time at home on my extremely slow "dial-up" at some point in time to get the most out of this.

Simpsonizing was fun. Can this truly be me??? There was no photo of a library so I settled for the school background. My cat features here also even though it is the wrong colour and he actually is just recently deceased. Consider this a little tribute to ol' Oliver.
I'm off now to conquer week 5.

Whew, I never knew

It is amazing what happens when you spend a while exploring the options here. Thanks to Holly (she came to rescue when I got bogged down) I am gaining on the technology even as it runs at a frantic pace away from me. I'm somewhat pleased with the play time I have had here, but will need to spend much more to really take advantage of the world of internet sharing.

As you can see by the "badge" on my blog I will need to seek out some more interesting photos. My worry is the time it will take to upload all with a dial up connection. I shall try to load up some of my favourite photos of the recent trip to Ireland, England and Scotland next.

The RSS Feed should be useful to keep up on some of the current issues and ideas. Thanks to the folks who came up with this brilliant idea.

flickr play

I have been creating an account and browsing around the flickr site. I think it will be interesting in the next while to see who is using the site, who is accessing my photos, how people tend to share their worlds here. It concerns me that perhaps we are moving too far into a world of limited privacy, however, I understand that these are just tools and we can choose how much we wish to share. Within the context of my world at work I hope this will be a tool that is useful.

I will probably be moving more and more to a workshop style that involves power point slides and I can see already that this site will be useful.

Sailing off in a Wooden Shoe

Just as the three - Wynken, Blynken and Nod sailed off in a wooden shoe....I shall now embark on a voyage, too. Let's see what silvery fish land in this boat.
